In 2017 I decided to lose the baby-weight and train for my first triathlon in about 6 years (had only done 3 prior), AND my first 70.3. I had a rough 6 months of training, plagued by injuries and issues. I had considered pulling out in the weeks leading up to the race (MiamiMan) due to pain, but sucked it up and entered. I ended up qualifying for the 2018 ITU World Championship Long Course in Denmark, and Team USA!
My season prepping for that race was also difficult, and my luggage and gear was lost by the airline en route to Denmark. But my bike box made it!!! Travelling alone, dealing with the replacement of my gear (not to mention underwear) in a foreign country, having to use new fuel on race day (ugh) all made for quite the experience. And filled me with confidence that I can, in fact, do anything - hahaha!
So most issues are worked through now, and I am ready to begin training (albeit late) for MiamiMan 2019 and hopefully another spot on Team USA with the support of this Team!
